Spring Programs and Celebrating Caregivers!
Hello Friends,
This month we are keeping it simple and focusing on our Spring programs and everything happening in the studio right now! In honor of Mother's Day we also want to take a moment to talk about why we love to be a family-friendly studio space.
Caring for Caregivers
This month is the perfect time to celebrate mothers and caretakers of all kinds. On a good day, ceramics is a restorative art form. For many people in the studio, this is how they “fill their cup”. We are so grateful to be able to provide a space where parents/ co-parents/ caretakers/ and people of all kinds can take a moment for themselves and work on their creative pursuits.
As a studio, we strive to support caregivers, this is why we are a kid-friendly studio. When we decided kids would be welcome to come to the studio with their parents, it was because we recognized a need! With so many parents in the area, we realized allowing members to bring their kids with them would mean more people would be here more often. Sometimes caregivers just need some time away from those they support too, and we are thrilled to be able to provide a space for that as well.
We also get immense joy from witnessing people of all ages enjoy the studio. Although sometimes kids are louder and move faster than adults we have found their presence overall to be a wonderful addition to the space. Not to mention, the work the kids are making here with members and in our after-school programs is brilliant and so inspiring.
BIG NEWS! We have a new class with families in mind! Family Handbuilding is our first 5-week class for ages 6+ (poster and registration link below). We encourage parents to come with their kids, chosen family to attend together, or anyone to come solo and enjoy. The class will be led by Teaching Artist, Rolanda Chu, who is as patient and encouraging as teachers come.
Last thing we want to mention! This studio would not exist if it was not for our two very strong and fiercely independent Moms. A huge thank you to Hanna and Paula! We love you both so much ❤️ Happy Mother’s Day!

We will then invite campers to create ceramic sculptures of an animal or plant they feel inspired to protect.
